Is Surgical Eyelash Replacement Right for You?

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Eyelashes are an important part of your facial appearance and when your lashes are thinning out or have disappeared completely, it can be difficult to deal with the situation.

Eyelash loss can be the result of several factors. Trauma to the eyelid from an accident, overuse of false eyelashes, or a burn incident can result in permanent eyelash loss. Trichotillomania, or obsessive plucking of the eyelashes is another cause. Medications that are used to treat certain medical conditions can also produce eyelash loss.

eyelash transplantation can be an effective and safe remedy. Live hair follicles from your scalp or head are extracted and transplanted into surgical openings in the eyelash line. The hair chosen will be hair that most closely resembles natural eyelash hair. The follicles will follow the natural growth cycle of hair and, in most cases, new eyelashes will begin to grow in 4 to 6 months.

The procedure has very few complications and can be a very effective way to restore a natural look to your face.

I Needed the Best Traction Alopecia Treatment

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

I knew that there was a traction alopecia treatment that was right for me. It was merely a question of finding the best one tor my specific situation. A lot of people with traction alopecia got it from having their hair in tight braids or corn rows. I have never had my hair in either of these two styles. My traction alopecia came about due to my excessively tight pony tails and buns. I love the look of hair that’s pulled back very very tightly so I wore my hair that way for a few years.

If I had known then that I was doing so much damage to my hair and my scalp I probably would’ve changed styles earlier. If I had known that that hair style would cause me to begin to go bald in spots I would definitely have changed my hair style. Finding the right traction alopecia treatment for me wasn’t even too difficult. It was clear which treatment was the best one and I just went for that one rather than looking into all the others that everyone told me were simply not as effective.
