The Truth About Ted

Ted. Ted Casablanca.

If you're a Twilight lover, you probably know him. You may have known him before Twilight, although that era seems hard to remember for me. (!!) Many love him, some hate him (mostly Nonstens).

So right here I'm gonna throw out:

<------ Haters to the left, please. To the far outside left of your monitor, like don't even bother reading, cuz I adore this buff-assed man.

I've been reading Ted for a long time. His column is called the Awful Truth with good reason, because whether we like what he's saying or not, he brings what he knows as the Truth to us to the best of his ability. Unlike Perez and others, he checks his facts, and relies on only the most trustworthy “Insiders” for his information. He's rarely wrong (nobody's perfect), most famously bringing in the Brangelina train long before most suspected it was chugging into the tunnel of love. Why don't I just dismiss him and roll my eyes at his blogs like I do at other sites? Because he's proven himself to me, and he did that long before Rob Pattinson had thought about doing a Harry Potter movie.

One great thing about Ted is that when proven incorrect, he admits it. I've only seen it happen a few times, but it warms the heart of celebrity-interested/ addicted fans like me to see a Gossip columnist with some integrity and the balls to admit when he's made a mistake. It's very hard to know whom to trust, especially in this Internet age with no less than 82,000 bloggers posing as journalists from their laptops in study hall as they prepare for the Homecoming Dance. Yeah, go ahead and flame me, high schoolers, but all I'm saying is that you Have. No. Credibility.

Here's what Wikipedia says about him:

"Casablanca began writing for Premiere magazine in 1987, where he originally conceived his column before transferring it to E! in 1996 as a weekly (later daily) column. He regularly presents it on E! Television and sometimes appears as a correspondent and commentator for various E! Television events. As Bruce Bibby, he has written for a number of entertainment magazines and has been a contributor to the television magazine Hard Copy."

Yep. He's been in the business for that long. He's friends with and had lunch with, and has rubbed elbows with people we'll never dream of getting to meet. {Ok. We dream. A lot. :) } But the point is in all that time he's acquired lots and lots of contacts and figured out who he can trust and can't. And they are everywhere.

Here's a little taste of what Ted does. Remember the epic Red-Ribboned Exclusive post Mr. Casablanca made about the filming in
Italy for New Moon back on May 20th? Titled "Robsten Super Secret in Italy!"? He wrote:

"That's right, the New Moon crew's getting tighter security than if Barack and Michelle flew over on Air Force One for a second honeymoon. This is not a joke. And it's just as dreamy a twosome, is it not? But, jeez, why isn't Clooney putting Robsten up in his **** villa? We know he's got room to spare!

Besides, we're told the Italian shoot is "not a long leg at all," so there's going to be tons of free time to idle by romantic New Moon-lit lakes, right?"

Gosh, that sounds like hints of a secret arrival with no pap pics and a quiet stay in a lovely villa, doesn't it?

Interestingly enough - There were no pap pics of their arrival in Italy. Several reports of Rob and Kris staying in a villa surfaced in late June. A blurry pic of possibly Rob in a hammock came to light. Coincidence? I think not. ;)

Ted is a hot, funny, snarky, smart piece of man-candy. But the best thing about him is that he has a heart. He is widely known for his outstanding and generous efforts on behalf of better treatment for animals everywhere. He urges everyone to adopt pets from shelters. I grieved with him and for him after the loss of his beloved cat, Butch, and the sad end of his marriage. His big heart extends to many of his subjects in his work. He admires Rob and Kris for their non-Hollywood ways and strength of character.

He enjoys the love story as much as we do.

Ted's a Robsten shipper, just like me. Don't trash the Ted. I will always believe in him. And always have his back.

I love Ted. I started reading Ted in April when he started talking about Rob & Kris. I have learned his "TEd Speak" and know that sometimes there isn't new things to report so he does what he can. I hate when people post on his board that he is rehashing or retreating from things he has said. I look forwqard to reading Ted everyday and will continue to long after there is nothing to report on Rob & Kris anymore.

you took the words right out of my mouth and made it super fantastic!!
I really love him, with Robsten report or not. he's really smart and fun and that mouth of his just cracks me up all the time. Most importantly, just like you said, he checked his facts! there were some occasions he would try to sell some not-necessarily-true stories, but he's gossip columnist...i can cut him some slack. And he's not like every other people in the business have always tried to make Rob look like a manw***e and Kristen like a s***, cheers to him!!

I noticed Rob and Kris's chemistry before I had even read the books. MTV interview that my daughter made me watch. Ted got me "hooked". I've been reading him for a long time and he's very clever and yes, has a heart unlike most gossips. Your blog is wonderful and I totally agree with so much that you say here. Great job! Individually they are wonderful and will always support them but as a couple they are "magic" and I've never felt that way about any HW couple before. they warm my heart.

I like many of you simply love Ted, I read his blog with my morning coffee and delight in his observations and witty commentary, he is a delight. I have only one complaint, his Blind Vices, he makes them too darn difficult but I think I have a few sorted out..
